After graduating from UCD School of Architecture with first class honours in 2007, Gordon worked with Grafton Architects in Dublin before moving back to Westport in Mayo to set up 4 Architecture. Within six months the newly established practice had its first national recognition, with its entry for the Henrietta Street RIAI competition receiving a commendation. This followed with an article on Gordon’s Very Small House project, which was published in Plan Magazine in October of that year. The practice produced a sizeable body of work in the ensuing years. One such project, Solid Sanctuary, led to a nomination for the RIAI Irish Architecture awards, and was included on the short list for public choice award that year.
